Importance of pageview

How important is the pageview of a deviant?

I used to think that's really important. I used to compete with my friends here, with the number of pageviews. But one day, I found the pageview in DA can't use as a judge. Because it was out of order... or interrupted by others. My friend's view simply grew up in a way that doesn't make sense - a thousand in a day, and stopped for a period, then another thousand. Does this make sense?

And now I back to DA, and found that there are some ways of getting a boost to pageview, all you have to do is to subcribe to DA...i.e. paying adv. fee...

Shit! when did DA change!? It was simply an art community origionally, with fair, open and peaceful environment. How come everybody(well~most body) have money comes in mind, Doing adv. offered by DA, and gain everybody's comment, fav, watch...with something not really artistic, inspirational but simply for showing off?

If upload naked bodies you will obtain an increase of pageviews. That indicates you that the pageviews counter does not make totally reference to the level of the artist. ;)

Yes, I agree. Some topics are really more attractive and can have effects on pageview no matter what the quality of the work is.

But my friend and I was a college student at that time. And those time was far from talking about any naked body in education or photo practice in Hong Kong. Even he had no idea why his pageview jumped like that.
